General

Are there steps?

Yes, this is a second floor condo- with resulting better ocean views!  The master bedroom and second bedroom are three steps up from the main living level, and there is an additional flight of stairs to the upstairs deck and third bedroom.

What happens if repairs or problems arise?

We are readily available by telephone.  We will respond promptly and find a solution.  Many of our guests have commented how much they like the personal touch, rather than an impersonal management service, so many of our clients are return customers.

How far is the beach?

Unlike the majority of rentals on Craig Bay, our condo is located at beach level, only steps to the beach. (Check out the photos!) Just walk along the side of our four-plex and you are there! Many rentals are located on top of the bluff which surrounds Craig Bay, requiring a steep climb down to the beach with all your stuff (and back up!).  Our condo is perfectly situated by walks on the beach and in Rathtrevor Park.

Rules

Are pets allowed?

No. Tanglewood bylaws prohibit renters from bringing pets.  On the bright side, there are no concerns about pet odors, dander, or allergies.

Is the unit non-smoking?

Yes.

How many guest can stay at Tanglewood #9?

Tanglewood bylaws limit the number of guests to 6.  There is a queen in the master bedroom, a double and single bunk bed in the second bedroom  and two twins as a trundle bed in the 3rd bedroom, as well as a hideaway double in the sofa in the living room. 

 

Can I make bonfires on the Beach?

Maybe.  Tanglewood has two campfire rings, just above the high tide line and right on the beach.  For much of the year,  they are perfect for campfires.  At times of high fire risk, however, the Province may prohibit open fires of any kind, even on the beach.  So check with the ranger station at Rathtrevor Provincial Park, next door, or check online for up to the minute changes.

Amenities

Is there internet access in the condo?

Yes. We have wired and wifi high speed internet access (The password is available when you arrive).  There is plenty of bandwidth to stream movies, although maybe not three different movies at a time.

Is there cell phone reception?

In recent years, cell phone coverage has improved dramatically, and we have no problem making and receiving cell phone calls, texts or data.

How about TVs?

You will find a flat screen high definition TV in the living room, together an extended cable line-up and DVD player.  There is an additional TV in the 2nd bedroom.  We provided a number of DVD movies for our guests.

Music?

There is a CD player in the living room with a number of CDs of a range of genres.  In addition, the high channel numbers of the cable line-up on the TV offer 30 channels of music.

Is there a BBQ?

Yes, there is a propane BBQ on the deck off the dining room.  Two propane tanks are provided.  In the unlikely event that they run out, they can be filled at the top of the hill at the Log Cabin store ( 2 min away) and we will reimburse you.

How do I book my stay?

We ask that you email us or call 619-992-6573 to speak directly to Nancy.  We will then send you a short-term lease, and you sign and return it (usually by email).  You mail us a cheque  for the deposit or use Paypal, and you are all set.

How do I make payment?

The prices are all quoted in Canadian Dollars.  You may make payment in Canadian or American dollars.  You can pay by cheque (our preference, to help keep costs down) or with a credit card through Paypal.

Do I pay any additional taxes, such as GST/PST or hotel tax?

Not for our condo!   The quoted price is the TOTAL price.  Resorts and hotels are required to charge both 10% PST (Provincial Sales Tax)  and  5% GST (Goods and Services Tax) for a total of 15% above the advertised price.

How much is the deposit?

We try to do our best for you in the event you have to cancel. There is a fee of $200 for all cancellations. Any days that we can re-rent will be fully refunded to you.

120 days full refund minus $200.
> 90 days 50% refund minus $200.
< 90 days no refund, unless we can re-rent.

There is a damage deposit of $300, which we almost always can return to you along with the cleaning fee.

What are check-in and check–out times?

Check-in is at 3:30 pm and check-out is 10:30 am. In between, the cleaning service gets the condo ready for the new guests!

What is the cancellation policy?

We try to do our best for you in the event you have to cancel. There is a fee of $200 for all cancellations. Any days that we can re-rent will be fully refunded to you.

The damage deposit and cleaning fee are refunded for all cancellations.

Is there a damage deposit or cleaning fee?

Yes.  The damage deposit is $300- refundable after you leave, and there is a cleaning fee of $150 (actually less than we are charged by the cleaning service.)
